To be more precise, the 6th April 2009 around 3:32 am, the earth tremors began to damage this territories. These tremors continued for some days, but the most powerful was during the first night. It was a disaster, that killed more than 300 victims and also destroyed a lot of houses, shops, restaurants and more only in the city of L'Aquila.
This period was very difficult for this territories, despite the State aids and all the people that helped the survivors with the offer of a bed, a good meal and there were million the financial supports.
Also today, these people miss their house, miss their parents that are dead among the rubbles and above all they pretend justice because their house weren't built in a correct way.
I decided to write this post for different reasons, and one of these, is the fact that also I passed this terrible experience. Yes, I'm living in a town in Abruzzo barely a few miles from the center of L'Aquila. I think that I was so lucky because in my zone there aren't weighty things, but a thing is sure: in that moment, I didn't laugh.
It was a terrible experience that signed me for all the rest of my life. It was a strange sensation but I can maintain that for a long period I suffered from insomnia, fear and I couldn't stay in my house for a long time.
Besides, I can affirme also that when around a year later I went to L'Aquila to see with my eyes it was really sad. I talked with a lot of people and I see in their eyes the desperation and pain. It was harrowing.
It is now six years since the disaster and I just want to remember the victims the same day that they lost their life. Besides, I hope that with the creation of this post I invite yourself to reflect that everyday, in our world, a lot of people die for different causes and in most cases they die with a nature anomaly.
